GOLF
The IUP men’s golf team returned to play and opened its 2021 spring season tying for fifth overall at the North Greenville University’s Cherokee Valley Invitational.
It was supposed to be a two-day event but bad weather cut it to one. The Crimson Hawks shot a 14-over 302 and finished 16 strokes back of winner and host North Greenville.
Sophomore Shaun Fedor tied for fifth individually by shooting an even par 72.
SWIMMING
Five IUP swimmers are competing in the NCAA Divison II Swimming and Diving Championships, which get underway today in Birmingham, Alabama. Seniors Claire Mikesell and Iliana Oikonomou, and juniors Paige Mikesell and Rachel Johnson will swim in the women’s championships. Freshman Luke Mikesell will swim in the men’s competition.
