The Baltimore Orioles capitalized on an 8-run seventh inning and went on to beat the Pirates, 12-3, Monday afternoon.
Tyler Anderson bounced back in his third start of the spring by only allowing two earned runs while striking out seven hitters in four innings of work, but Baltimore pounced on relievers Edgar Santana and Shea Spitzbarth in the middle innings to run away with the game.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and Adam Frazier provided the offensive workload for Pittsburgh as they both went 2-3 on the afternoon, with Hayes hitting a solo home run in the first frame.
The Pirates are 7-7-1 and riding a three-game losing streak. They will look to snap the streak tomorrow against the Minnesota Twins.
