The preliminary hearing for Terrion Gates has been set for Friday, March 19th before District Judge Chris Welch in Clymer. The 19-year-old Johnstown man is being held without bond on charges of criminal homicide, robbery, and theft. He is one of four suspects in the shooting death of 20-year-old Jaedyn Wright of Pittsburgh outside the Carriage House apartments along Oakland Avenue in Indiana last October 17th.
Gates was taken into custody last Friday by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, which had tracked him to Altoona. The other suspects are 20-year-old Isaiah Moore of Philadelphia, 18-year-old Isabella Edmonds of Indiana, and 20-year-old Delmar Chatman of Johnstown, all of whom are in custody and are awaiting court action. Police said the shooting occurred during a marijuana deal with Wright.
The attorneys for Delmar Chatman and Isaiah Moore have filed motions for writs of habeas corpus in an attempt to get the charges against them dismissed. President Judge Thomas Bianco has scheduled motions hearings for Chatman on March 17th and for Moore on April 21st. Meanwhile, Moore is facing two charges of criminal solicitation to escape the Indiana County Jail in November. He has a preliminary hearing on those charges scheduled for April 5th.
