At their meeting Wednesday morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved an agreement of assurance for compliance related to the federal emergency rental and utility assistance program.
Indiana County’s share of the $25 billion in federal funds was $5,529,506. The funding was received on Friday March 5th and the program started on Monday. Earlier this year, the county entered into an agreement with ICCAP to administer the grant and deliver on the program’s services. So far, ICCAP has received seven applications. Lisa Spencer with the County Department of Human Services talked about the ways people can apply for these grants.
At this time renters, landlords and utility providers can apply for this funding. Sixty-five percent of the monies must be spent by the end of July, with the full amount spent by the end of the year or that money is lost. People can call ICCAP at 724-465-2657 for more information.
In other business, the commissioners approved an agreement with Zelenkofske Axelrod, LLC to help administer the Coronavirus Fiscal Recovery Fund and provide technical assistance and advice related to polices, procedures, accountability and monitoring of expenditures of various Covid-19-related federal and state grant programs.
