On Tuesday night, the Clymer Borough Council approved a loan for their 10-year paving project.
The $600,287.50 loan is actually comprised of an additional $100,000 on top of a prior loan for the project. Borough manager Sonya Schrenkel said that they are taking advantage of low interest rates for the loan.
Some of the money will be used to fix storm water and drain problems before the paving projects can start.
In other business, the board approved a resolution for the Fire Department’s workers compensation policy to cover those who support the firefighters behind the scenes. The people who will now be covered perform operational support activities for the Clymer Fire Department, such as cooking, cleaning and administrative tasks.
