Big Ben Roethlisberger has agreed to a restructured contract that will bring him back for an 18th season as the Steelers’ quarterback.
The one-year, $14 million deal pays him $5 million less than what he would have made in the final year of his current contract. He’ll be paid the veteran minimum of $1.075 million in salary with the rest paid out in a signing bonus over four voidable years.
The new contract will save the Steelers about $15 million in salary cap space, which they will need with 19 players eligible for free agency.
Big Ben threw 33 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions last year.
