Crosby and assistant coach Todd Reirden were both placed on the covid-19 list by the Penguins yesterday, and the team canceled its morning skate. The NHL later announced that the game could go on after additional testing and analysis. Being placed on the covid-19 list does not necessarily mean a positive test for the individual involved, and the team is not permitted to say the reason for someone being placed on the list. Crosby is the third Penguins player to spend time on the list this season, after Kapanen and John Marino.
The Pens and Flyers play again at PPG Paints Arena tomorrow night at 7.
