Two people from Penn Run were arrested last night on drug-related charges connected with a traffic stop and subsequent drug bust in East Wheatfield Township.
State police say that at 6:29 PM, they pulled over a pick-up truck driven by 51-year-old Eldon Sajko in the area of Routes 22 and 403 after seeing several equipment violations. When police talked with Sajko they saw several indications of drug activity. After Sajko consented to a search of the vehicle, police found three syringes and a baggie containing suspected crystal methamphetamine behind the driver’s seat, and another 65 grams of suspected crystal meth, 250 stamp bags, pills, suspected powdered cocaine, and a scale with what looked to be drug residue on it hidden in a fanny pack stuffed in the engine compartment of the truck. Sajko was taken into custody at that time.
Police were then notified of more narcotics at the home Sajko shared with 31-year-old Amy Cramer. Troopers were able to obtain permission to search the home and their search uncovered three rifles, about two pounds of suspected crystal meth, about $10,000 in cash and other items of contraband. Cramer was at the home at the time and was also taken into custody.
Both were arraigned by Indiana County District Judge Christopher Welch and they were placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail each. Preliminary hearings were set for 11:45 AM on March 15th.
