GIRLS CLASS-AA
The District VI Girls AA playoffs began Tuesday evening with two games on the schedule. The first saw the Penns Manor Comets take the season series against the West Shamokin Wolves in a bout that needed an extra period to decide a winner.
The Comets trailed the majority of the game but tied it in the fourth quarter and came back to win the game in overtime by the score of 41-38.

In other girls’ AA action, the Homer-Center Wildcats fell to the United Lions at home by the score of 67-55.

BOYS CLASS-A
In District VI Boys single-A action, the Saltsburg Trojans were eliminated at home by St. Joseph’s by a 50-34 score.

Also in girls’ 2A action, top-seeded Bishop McCort ended Blairsville’s season, 77-57. Lexi Risinger had 17 points in the first half but was shut out in the second half until scoring twice from 3-point range over the final 2:10 to finish with a game-best 23 points. Julia Potts had 15 points for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats (12-9) began the season 0-4 but won 10 of its final 12 regular-season games, including eight straight wins while playing every day last week in order to collect enough points to enter the district playoffs.
