For the second day in a row, Pitt basketball coach Jeff Capel has lost a star player. Junior forward Au’Diese Toney has entered the transfer portal and left the Pitt program.
Toney is Pitt’s second-leading scorer this season, averaging 14.4 points per game and is also Pitt’s second-leading rebounder, with 5.9 per game. His departure comes only a day after point guard Xavier Johnson entered the portal.
Capel says Pitt has to recruit players who “want to be (at Pitt).”
Pitt plays at North Carolina State on Sunday after at 4:00.
