The Washington Capitals took down the Penguins with four third-period goals last night.
The Penguins lost, 5-2, but had tied the game at 2-2 in the third period on back-to-back goals by Brandon Tanev and Jake Guentzel. The next three goals belonged to the Capitals.

Coach Mike Sullivan says the Caps were ready to play from the opening faceoff.
Guentzel says the Penguins didn’t play a complete game.
Tanev says the Penguins will have to put this one behind them.
Left wing Jason Zucker will be out “longer term”, according to Sullivan. He injured his left leg in the Capitals’ game on Tuesday and while Sullivan would not elaborate on the nature of the injury, it appeared to be very serious.
Winger Jared McCann skated at an optional morning skate yesterday and has been upgraded to full-contact status for the Penguins’ next practice.
The Penguins recalled forward Josh Currie from the taxi squad. He’s played two games as the captain at Scranton-Wilkes Barre and scored two goals.
The Penguins will play back-to-back games in New York against the Islanders tomorrow and Sunday. The game tomorrow faces off at 7:00. Sunday’s game is at 5:00.
