Marlee Kochman scored 17 points and Macy Sardone added 15 as the Homer-Center girls defeated Purchase Line last night, 52-42, to close out the regular season portion of their schedule and secure the number one seed in the Heritage Conference girls’ tournament. Molly Kosmack added 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots for the Wildcats.
The semifinals tonight will feature No. 4 Penns Manor visiting Homer-Center, while second-seed United will welcome No. 3 West Shamokin. Homer-Center beat Penns Manor, 50-49 and 43-25, in their two meetings this season.
United defeated West Shamokin in both of their meetings, coming just two days apart last Saturday and Monday, by scores of 57-27 and 42-36.
On the boys side, the Heritage Conference semifinals will feature top-seed and undefeated West Shamokin against No. 4 Marion Center, while No. 3 Penns Manor will visit No. 2 United.
West Shamokin beat Marion Center in both of their meetings this season, 46-32 and 68-32.
United and Penns Manor split their two games, with the Lions winning, 76-69, on January 27th and the Comets winning last Friday, 73-63.

The Homer-Center/Penns Manor girls’ game will be on WCCS, 101.1 FM and AM 1160, starting at 6:40.
The West Shamokin/Marion Center boys’ game will be on 92.5 FM U92, airing at 6:40.
The Heritage Conference has announced that Saturday’s championship games will begin at 5:00 for the girls and at 7:00 for the boys, at the home court of the highest remaining seeds.
