In its latest release, the Heritage Conference has laid out the scenarios for the conference semifinals and championship games.
BOYS:
West Shamokin is the number one seed and will play number-four Marion Center on Thursday.
United and Penns Manor remain in contention for the second seed. If United beats Saltsburg tonight, the Lions will be the No. 2 seed and will play host to Penns Manor on Thursday. If United loses tonight, it will finish third and play at Penns Manor in the semifinals.
GIRLS:
The top seed will play fourth-seeded Penns Manor, while the No. 2 seed will play the No. 3 seed.
The final seeds depend on the outcome of Wednesday night’s game between Homer-Center and Purchase Line. If Homer-Center beats Purchase Line, the Wildcats will be the No. 1 seed, with United second, West Shamokin third, and Penns Manor fourth. Homer-Center would play host to Penns Manor and United would play host to West Shamokin, making it the third straight game between the two teams since last Saturday. United has won the first two meetings.
If Homer-Center loses at Purchase Line, United takes the top seed, West Shamokin finishes second, Homer-Center third, and Penns Manor fourth. United would play host to Penns Manor in the semis and West Shamokin would welcome Homer-Center.
With United playing host to a doubleheader no matter what on Thursday, the action will tip off at 6:00, with the second game at 8:00. For teams playing host in single games, tipoffs are scheduled for 7:00.
TONIGHT: Purchase Line girls at Blairsville on Cat Country 106.3 FM at 7 PM.
