The Heritage Conference announced today that it has moved the dates of the semi-finals and championship basketball games to Thursday, February 25th for the four semifinal games and Saturday, February 27th for the two championship games. The original dates were Feb. 24th and 26th, respectively.
The changes were made to allow for an extra day for teams to make-up games which could impact the final standings. The highest seed will play host in each semifinal and championship game. In the case of semifinals, the first-seed teams will play host to the fourth-seed teams and the third seeds will travel to the second seeds.
The four girls’ teams will be Penns Manor, West Shamokin, United and Homer-Center, and the boys’ teams will be Marion Center, West Shamokin, Penns Manor and United. In both cases, the teams are set, but pairings are not at this time. All semifinal games are currently slated for 7 p.m. (subject to change depending on pairings and host teams), while the championship game times have not yet been announced.

Additionally, according to United Athletic Director Cullen Stokes, the Saltsburg boys’ team will open the District 6 playoffs on Monday, March 1st. All other teams will open either March 2nd or March 3rd.
