While the Altoona Curve remains a Pirates’ affiliate, the Eastern League – which has housed the Curve since the team’s inception in 1999 – is now known as the Double-A Northeast League. Most teams in the division remain the same as in previous years, but there is a new addition as the Somerset Patriots are the new affiliate to the New York Yankees.
The Patriots replace the Yankees’ old affiliate, the Trenton Thunder, who was a part of the Eastern League from 1980 to 2020.
The Curve, along with the Akron Rubberducks, Bowie Baysox, Erie Seawolves, Harrisburg Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels, are categorized in the Southwest Division, and no schedule has been released yet for the upcoming season.
