PSP-INDIANA
State police are investigating an incident where a woman was scammed out of $1,200 earlier this month. Police say they were notified of the online scam on February 4th. Troopers discovered that the victim, a 40-year-old Indiana woman, was looking to purchase an ATV from an unknown person, and that person instructed her to pay in eBay gift cards. The woman never got the ATV. The transaction took place over Facebook Marketplace.
State police have released details on a DUI crash on Oakland Avenue on January 23rd. Police say at 8:05 PM that night, they were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot for a vehicle that had just hit a guide rail on Oakland Avenue near Route 422. Police said the driver, identified only as a 22-year-old man from Punxsutawney, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance. Charges are pending the results of lab analysis.
PSP-GREENSBURG
State police reported a case of credit card fraud in Seward. Police say that on January 9th, a 19-year-old Seward man was scammed out of $700 in a credit card scam. The case is still under investigation.
