The installation service for Bishop-elect Larry J. Kulick will be held this afternoon, as he becomes the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg.
Kulick replaces Bishop Edward C. Malesic, who was installed as bishop of the Cleveland diocese in September. At the time, Kulick was serving as pastor of the St. James Parish in New Alexandria. A native of Leechburg, he has served in Indiana County as a deacon at St. Thomas More, in 1991 and 1992, and from 1997 to 2002 he was pastor of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kent.
Father William Lechnar, who at one time was also pastor at the Church of the Good Shepherd, says Bishop-elect Kulick is well-acquainted with the diocese.
The installation service today is at 2 o’clock at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. It will be streamed on the diocesan website, www.dioceseofgreensburg.org, and on the diocesan Facebook page and YouTube channel, and simulcast on TV on the EWTN channel.
Father Lechnar, who is currently serving the Holy Family Parish in Seward, will join us on Indiana In the Morning on WCCS at 9:45 this morning.
