State police accused a Latrobe man of DUI after a traffic stop early Saturday morning on Route 119 in Burrell Township. Police say that at 3:05 AM, police found 27-year-old Al Daron Cooley was found to be asleep while his vehicle was running and still in drive facing south in the northbound lane of Route 119. Cooley was taken into custody on charges of suspicion of DUI. Official charges will be filed pending the results of blood tests.
No one was hurt in a crash Sunday morning involving a snow plow and a car on Route 22 in Burrell Township. State police say the crash happened near Penn View Road at 9:33 AM. 42-year-old Shane Steiner of Jeannette was behind the wheel of his SUV and in the right hand lane when he collided with a Mack Truck with a snow plow plowing snow in the left lane.
State police have charged an Indiana woman with theft from the Walmart in White Township. Authorities say that 24-year-old Lori Murdock took about $57.37 worth of merchandise from the Walmart on Oakland Avenue, while an unknown female accomplice took $24.78 worth of merchandise. Charges of theft have been filed with the Blairsville district court.
