The Pirates yesterday signed free agent left-handed reliever Chasen Shreve to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training with the big league club.
Chasen is 17-8 with a 3.74 ERA in seven Major League seasons with the Yankees, Braves, Cardinals, and Mets. He was 1-0 with a 3.76 ERA last season with the Mets in 17 appearances and 25 innings.
