The Pittsburgh Penguins return to play for the first time since the start of the week as they take on the New York Islanders tonight in New York. This is the first game since February 1st, when they lost 3-1 to the New York Rangers. This was due to a Covid-19 outbreak among the New Jersey Devils, which postponed the two-game series that the Pens were scheduled to play with them.
Over the last two days, the Pens have been working on their power play game, which has been suffering this season so far. The power play over the last five games went 0-19. The players taking a back-to-basics approach, and that included shooting the puck more on the power play. The Pens also simulated traffic in front of the net with a couple of tripod “dummies” set up alongside goalie Casey DeSmith to help with their accuracy.
Tonight’s game starts at 7:00 and we’ll have the game on U-92.5 FM and the U92.5 Sportschannel at u92radio.com starting at 6:00 with the pre-game show.
