The Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education will meet today, with updates on the State System Redesign and the Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion among the big agenda items.
The board will review the accountability framework that was first adopted two years ago to monitor progress on student success, university success, and diversity issues.
On the State System Redesign, the board will learn about the exploration of integrating several universities into one entity. As proposed, Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield would become one university and California, Clarion, and Edinboro would also become one. The earliest that would happen would be the fall ’22 semester.
Among the other items on today’s agenda are the refinancing of several bonds, a “prefunding agreement” for pensions with the State Employees Retirement System, the Faculty Shared Governance proposal, and an enhanced sick leave agreement for the State System’s unions.
