State police confirm three individuals were involved in an incident yesterday in Homer City Borough, but say they have not discovered any information that confirm initial reports of a shooting.
Homer City police were initially called out at 12:36 PM Wednesday for a report of “shots fired” in the “0-0” block of North Main Street, and the investigation was subsequently turned over to the state police. Troopers have conducted interviews since then and confirmed there was a “disturbance and physical altercation” at an apartment involving three people: a 16-year-old man and a 19-year-old man from Homer City and a 22-year-old man from Indiana. The three men fled before police got there.
Minor to moderate injuries were reported in the incident, but state police say they could not find any shell casings, firearms, or any physical evidence that would confirm that a shooting took place. Police also say that no firearms or shell casings were seized in their investigation so far.
State police ask anyone with information on the incident to call them at 724-357-1960 and ask for Trooper Mathias Schmotzer.
