Indiana Regional Medical Center has named the recipient of the 2020 Marge Scheeren Volunteer Service Award.
The 2020 recipient is Peggy Patterson, who is a volunteer in the Auxiliary Gift Shop and at the information desk at the hospital.
Patterson was nominated by several other volunteers who said she was “helpful and knowledgeable about services for patients” and for being someone who could provide assistance when needed. She has volunteered at IRMC for the last 13 years.
The award recognizes individuals who “exemplify compassion and commitment to serving others through volunteering” at the hospital. Normally, she would be presented with the award at a formal gathering, but that gathering was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
