On Tuesday night, the Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board heard an update on a project to replace the heater at the Blairsville Elementary School.
Rick Harper said that the project will be in a holding pattern until the end of the school year as the main work must transition inside, which is not possible during the school year.
Until then, Harper said they will continue to maintain the system as best as they can until the summer months. The project is expected to wrap up by the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
In other business, the board approved by a 7-1 vote to hire Sarah Hartzell-Teacher as the new assistant principal for secondary students and the board approved naming Elizabeth Zedick as the district’s pandemic coordinator.
