The Pittsburgh Pirates have named Christian Marrero as assistant hitting coach, replacing Mike Rabelo, who will be the new major league field coordinator.
Marrero has been a hitting coach in the Phillies minor league system the last two seasons. He is a former Pirates’ minor league player.
