Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a day set aside to honor the civil rights activist. There are some closures in effect today.
Federal, state and local government offices are closed for the day today, but state liquor stores that would normally be open on a Monday will be open. PennDOT Drivers License and Photo Centers are closed today. Many banks will also close for the day. The post office is closed today and there will be no regular mail delivery.
As far as schools go, that varies by district. Blairsville-Saltsburg School District is closed for the holiday today. Homer-Center, Indiana, Purchase Line and United school districts will not hold classes today, but staff will report for an in-service day. Marion Center and Penns Manor school districts and the ICTC are open as normal today.
