The White Township Supervisors met this afternoon and there was some discussion on the procedure concerning executive sessions.
Traditionally, Supervisors have held executive sessions at the end of the meeting, but some members of the public do not get the chance to talk about any decisions after an executive session as the GoTo Meeting feed is usually shut off. The point had been raised in a recent letter from the Friends of Whites Woods group. Sarah King, a resident of White Township, said that the executive sessions should be moved to the middle or beginning of the meeting.
In other business, the White Township Supervisors approved their own resolution to oppose Pennsylvania entering the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. The supervisors also approved giving Township Manager Milt Lady and Assistant Manager Chris Anderson permission to draft a letter to Rosebud mining opposing the location of a new mine in the Fulton Run area. While the township wasn’t opposed to the idea of mining, they felt the location of the mine would run counter to their comprehensive plan.
