Prior to the Clymer Borough Council Meeting, it was announced that businesses in Clymer would start receiving notices from the state concerning water lines.
During the Clymer Water Authority meeting held prior to the borough council meeting, it was announced that businesses, and soon homes, would receive notices saying the state is requiring that towns are required to put backflow preventers on water lines. The device is meant to keep water flowing one direction, and prevent drinking water from being contaminated due to backflow. The notices are headed to businesses now, but residents will also receive notices.
In other business, a notice is expected to be released from Clymer Borough to seek someone to fill the term of the late Joe Krolick, who passed away in early December. The person taking his position will fill it for the rest of the year.
