For the first time since December 22nd, Jeff Capel’s Pitt Panthers take to the basketball floor this afternoon at Syracuse. Leading scorer Justin Champagnie will miss the game with a knee injury and is out long-term.
Injured guard Au’Diese Toney is likely to return after the Panthers posted photos of him practicing and then boarding the team plane yesterday. Those photos also include Xavier Johnson, Abdoul-Karim Coulibaly, and William Jeffress, so it looks like they’ll be playing. Capel announced on Monday that two players would miss the game because of contact tracing for coronavirus, but he did not say who they are.
Tipoff is at 4:30 on WCCS, AM 1160 and FM 101.1.
