Sidney Crosby will have to wait a while longer for his new right wing. Kasperi Kapanen is still in Finland while he works through visa issues with the U.S. government. Kapanen was acquired in the offseason to skate on a line with Crosby and left wing Jake Guentzel.
His agent says Kapanen hopes to get his work visa taken care of this week, but he is missing training camp time. Coach Mike Sullivan says that even when Kapanen finally arrives, it may take a while to adapt to the new line.
Sullivan says the team was excited to get on the ice yesterday for its first workout.
Crosby said the Penguins will have to be sharp in their shortened training camp, with the first game next Wednesday against the Flyers.

Despite three teams opting out, the American Hockey League is moving ahead with its season. The league announced that Charlotte, Milwaukee, and Springfield will not play due to the pandemic but will return for the 2021-22 season. That leaves 28 clubs competing this season, including Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Penguins top farm team. The teams opting out are NHL affiliates of the Blues, Panthers, and Predators.
