One of Indiana County’s district judges has announced he wants to fill the vacancy on the Court of Common Pleas.
District Judge Christopher Welch announced his candidacy today for the vacancy on the board of county judges. Welch has served as a district judge for the northern region of Indiana County for the last four years, working out of the Clymer office. A lifelong resident of Indiana County and a native of Rayne Township, Welch started his career in law in 2002 as a part of the Simpson, Kablack and Bell law firm and also was a part-time assistant in the Indiana County Public Defender’s office. In 2005, he formed a partnership with Matthew Budash to form the law firm of Budash and Welch. He was elected to his current position of district judge four years ago.
