Tomorrow is the last day for local non-profit, faith based and governmental organizations to apply for emergency food and shelter funding through the United Way.
The United Way was awarded $42,552 in federal funds from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. The funds are administered through the Department of Homeland Security. Local groups are encouraged to apply for the funding to assist with emergency food and shelter programs, as the money is designed to supplement and expand the work of local service agencies with food, shelter, rent or mortgage and utility assistance.
Groups can drop off applications at the United Way office on Church Street or send them to the United Way at 655 Church Street, Suite 114, Indiana, PA 15701. The applications are available online at www.uwindianacounty.org
Applications are due at the United Way office by noon tomorrow.
