The State Department of Agriculture, which oversees restaurant licensing in Pennsylvania, has published a list of 40 restaurants it says it has ordered closed across the commonwealth for violating Governor Tom Wolf’s ban on indoor dining.
The list includes both locations of Crouse’s Café, in Indiana and Shelocta. It also includes the Dob-Brothers Country Kitchen in Spring Church, which it mistakenly refers to as being in Indiana County. It is in Armstrong County. The Agriculture Department says restaurants that continue to defy the indoor dining ban and operate in any manner will be referred for legal action by the state Department of Health. Crouse’s has not posted its intentions to its Facebook page.
There were about 180 compliance visits to restaurants conducted, many based on complaints received by authorities. Those not ordered to close either agreed to halt dine-in service or had already done so.
