Ahead of the Christmas holiday, gas prices have gone up across the United States, while in Pennsylvania, the average cost remains unchanged for now.
Triple-A reports that the national gas price average has jumped to $2.24 a gallon as of this morning. This comes after a jump of six cents between December 14th and the 21st. Triple-A said two factors contributed to the spike in the gas prices: Tightening supply and rising crude oil prices. Prices for crude oil have topped $49 per barrel, marking the highest cost since last February, before stay-at-home guidance was issued across the country due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
