The Browns and the Ravens kept the pressure on the Steelers with wins yesterday in the AFC North. Pittsburgh plays at Cincinnati tonight in a Monday Night Football matchup, with the Steelers needing only to win to clinch the division.
There will be some challenges. The Steelers will be without injured starting guard Matt Feiler for the final three games of the season and his backup, Kevin Dotson, is out tonight with a shoulder injury. That puts J.C. Hassenauer at left guard against the Bengals.
Running back James Conner is listed as questionable with a quad injury.
The Bengals will start Ryan Finley at quarterback. Number one overall draft choice Joe Burrow is out for the season with a knee injury and backup Brandon Allen pulled up lame this week. Cincinnati will also play without injured linebacker Logan Wilson and running back Joe Mixon.
Linebacker TJ Watt says the Steelers are not overlooking the Bengals.
Converted safety Marcus Allen started at linebacker last week in place of Vince Williams, who was on the reserve/covid list. Allen says the Steelers have had a great week of practice.
Nose tackle Tyson Alualu says that after having to play three games in 12 days, the Steelers needed the eight-day break between last week’s game against Buffalo and tonight’s game in Cincy.
Pittsburgh is 11-2. Cincinnati is 2-10-1. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15, pregame at 6:15 on WDAD.
In the AFC North yesterday, the Browns cruised to a 20-6 victory over the Giants and the Ravens hammered the Jaguars 40-14.
