Coach Mike Tomlin says the Steelers lost to Buffalo on Sunday because the Bills were the more physical team, and he says that’s the second week in a row.
The Steelers have lost two games in a row and have just finished a span of playing three games in 12 days, and Tomlin says the eight days between Sunday’s game and Monday’s matchup with Cincinnati will be good for this team, especially the faltering run game.
Tomlin says they have been working on the run game in recent weeks.
Tomlin says he is disappointed with the lack of physical play by his team and hopes the extra prep time this week will help.
Top runner James Conner returned Sunday from missing two games because of being on the reserve/covid list, but he showed up on the Steelers’ injury list yesterday, with a quad injury. Conner is joined on the injury list by guard Kevin Dotson, with a shoulder injury, Chuks Okorafor, with an ankle injury, and safety Terrell Edmunds, with a shoulder injury.
Guard Matt Feiler was placed on injured reserve with a pec muscle injury on Monday and the Steelers yesterday signed guard Danny Isidora from the Chiefs’ practice squad. He’s made six starts in 25 NFL games with the Vikings, Dolphins, and Chiefs.
