The agenda for tonight’s special voting meeting of the Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board has been published, and it includes a vote on a motion to move the Section 780 public hearing on the possible closure of Saltsburg Middle-High School to January 13th, and, if necessary, the 14th. The hearing was originally scheduled for tonight at the Saltsburg School.
The motion also notes that due to statewide restrictions on in-person gatherings, the hearing will be virtual, through Zoom, and will be live-streamed on YouTube. Those who wish to attend virtually would contact the district by email or by sending a letter to the district, or by phone.
The board will also vote to accept all written statements and make them a part of the official record.
The only other agenda items tonight are related to the hearing. One is a motion to officially advertise the hearing and the other is a motion to hire attorney Dennis Rafferty to serve as the hearing officer, along with a court reporter to record and create a transcript of the hearing.
The public can attend tonight’s meeting virtually through a link provided at the district’s website, b-ssd.org.
