Several Pennsylvania legislators, including some in Indiana County, have filed information amicus briefs connected to the lawsuit out of Texas over the conduct of the 2020 general election.
Several Republicans in both the PA House and Senate have filed their own briefs in the matter. The brief from the House outlines the ways they feel the 2020 election was conducted in Pennsylvania and how that “in no way reflects the laws passed by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor.”
The Senate brief is similar in nature in addressing what some PA Senate Republicans see as a control grab by the Wolf administration and the Democratic-majority PA Supreme Court.
Senator Joe Pittman signed the Senate Brief. The House brief was signed by Representatives Jeff Pyle and Brian Smith, who represent portions of Indiana County. Representative Jim Struzzi said that he could not sign it as he did not have enough time to review it due to other issues.
He was also told that house leadership informed him that they were filing on behalf of the entire caucus.
Struzzi did add his support, saying that every legal vote should be counted and every illegal vote should not.
