Indiana Area School District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich announced today that a new case of Covid-19 was reported at the Senior High school, but the school will remain open for now.
In a letter posted to the district website, Vuckovich said the district was notified Wednesday evening of the new case. A staffer who had come into the school to prepare lesson plans left shortly afterwards before students arrived. While the Department of Health categorized this as a low-risk case, it still counts against their case total, which is only one case in the Senior High School and one active case across the district. This falls within the guidelines to allow the school to remain open for now.
Vuckovich also reported a case of Covid-19 in a junior high student, but that did not count against the district’s case total as the student was utilizing a full remote learning format and had not entered the school.
