The Steelers offense mustered just three points in the second half, giving the Washington Football Team the opportunity to overcome an 11-point deficit and hand the Steelers their first loss, 23-17, Monday at Heinz Field.
The loss was Pittsburgh’s first of the season, ending their undefeated streak and dropping them to 11-1. The Steelers missed a chance to clinch a playoff berth and fell into a tie with defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City for the top spot in the AFC with four games remaining.
Ben Roethlisberger passed for 305 yards and two touchdowns, but was picked off by Jon Bostic — a former Steeler — with 1:59 remaining. The Steelers managed just 21 rushing yards.
