The Blairsville-Saltsburg school Board will hold a special meeting tonight to reevaluate the district’s November 24th decision to return to in-person instruction this coming Monday.
The board decided last month to notify the state that it would follow all coronavirus mitigation protocols and return to holding classes in person district-wide on December 7th. However, in a public notice of tonight’s special meeting, the district notes a number of factors that lead to tonight’s meeting. Those factors include the recent covid-19 countywide impact, the status of employees and students who are quarantined, and recommendations by the state Department of Education, Department of Health, and Governor Wolf that schools remain in or move to remote instruction until the county experiences two or more weeks of a “moderate or low” transmission rate.
Anyone who wants to view the special virtual meeting will find the link at the Blairsville-Saltsburg district website, b-ssd.org.
