ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this afternoon that the Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens game has been moved to Tuesday.
The game was originally scheduled for Thursday night, but on Wednesday the NFL announced that the game would be moved to Sunday afternoon due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Ravens organization. On Thursday, the Ravens announced that starting quarterback Lamar Jackson had tested positive for the virus. At least 12 Ravens players have tested positive for COVID-19.
The Steelers did not practice on Friday.
Reserve quarterback Robert Griffin III will start against Pittsburgh. The kickoff time has been set for 8 p.m. The game can be heard on WDAD AM 1450 and 100.3 FM.
Baltimore was scheduled to play host to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, but that game also has been moved, to Monday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m.. which would allow Jackson to be activated in time to play.
This is the third time in the Super Bowl era that an NFL game will be played on a Tuesday. It happened in Week 5 this season when the Buffalo Bills-Tennessee Titans game was postponed because of a coronavirus outbreak in Tennessee. It also occurred in 2010 when a blizzard in Philadelphia shifted an Eagles-Minnesota Vikings game.
