On Wednesday, Homer-Center High School Principal Jody Rainey announced plans for counseling after the death of senior Isaac Kelly on Tuesday.
Kelly died due to the injuries he suffered Tuesday night as he was hit by a car while running on Route 119. In a letter sent to district parents, Rainey encouraged parents to speak with their children about their thoughts and concerns. The district has also arranged grief counselors to be at the school to talk with students, staffers or community members. No appointment is necessary but if anyone is not able to physically get to the school building, they are encouraged to call Rainey on his office line at 724-479-8026 extension 3124 and he will call back as soon as possible to set up a virtual appointment.
He also said that people can take advantage of several county resources to help them with the grieving process.
