The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled in four interceptions in a 27-3 victory at Jacksonville Sunday afternoon and improved their record to 10-0.
Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds each made two interceptions, and the defense held the Jaguars to 206 yards, a season-low against the Steelers and the fifth time this season the defense held an opponent to less than 300 yards. The Steelers have surrendered just 13 points in the last two games.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 32 of 46 for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie Chase Claypool became the first wide receiver in the Super Bowl era and fourth in NFL history to score 10 touchdowns in his first 10 games. Diontae Johnson didn’t score, but he caught a career-high 12 passes for 111 yards.
The Steelers are the 18th team in the Super Bowl era to start a season 10-0, and 10 of the previous 17 teams reached the Super Bowl.
Pittsburgh will put its perfect record on the line Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens, who lost in overtime to Tennessee to fall to 6-4.
Coach Mike Tomlin was already looking ahead to Thursday night’s game in the aftermath of the win yesterday.
Tomlin says there is no added pressure from being undefeated. The pressure, says the coach, is there every week.
