Indiana County’s generosity was on display on Saturday morning for the Oldies Attic Turkeython.
Not only were people calling the Oldies Attic on WCCS during the show making pledges, but members of Quota club were collecting donations along Philadelphia Street and other volunteers were stationed at grocery stores around Indiana County. As of the sign-off of the Turkeython, $45,982 was raised, but Oldies Attic host Bill Otto expects more to come in.
The money goes to the United Way of Indiana County, and local grocers will match the donations to help organizations providing food to those who need it in Indiana County, including The Salvation Army, Homer City Food Bank, Creekside United Methodist Church Food Bank, the Chevy Chase Community Center, the Deacons Pantry in Blairsville and groups helping homeless veterans in Indiana County.
A grand total is expected next week.
