Indiana County surpassed 2000 cases of Covid-19 on Friday.
The PA Department of Health reported an increase of 64 cases from Thursday to Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 2,062. Two new deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 31. The county’s positivity rate between November 13th and 19th was 17.7 percent.
IUP has also seen an increase of cases among their students. On Friday, the University announced 32 new student cases of Covid-19, with all 32 cases reported in Indiana County. 14 of those cases are on-campus residents and 18 of them are living off campus. 10 students are utilizing the self-isolation beds. Eight of those are confirmed cases of Covid-19 while two others are presumed positive or awaiting test results.
As far as the testing at the wastewater plant goes, Indiana Borough said that for the fourth week in a row, concentration levels of viral Covid-19 RNA at the wastewater facility went up since the last sample testing.
