It’s been a quiet offseason so far for the Pirates, but MLB Network’s JP Morosi says things might be getting a bit busier. He’s reporting that lefty pitcher Steven Brault is a “name to follow closely in the weeks ahead.”
Morosi says teams have been calling the Pirates about trading for Brault, who has three years of contract control ahead of him and had a 3.38 ERA in 42 innings pitched last season. Brault pitched in 11 games in the truncated season, 10 of them starts. He was 1-3 with 38 strikeouts and 22 walks and five hit batters.
