The Steelers began workouts for Sunday’s game at Jacksonville, and cornerback Mike Hilton was a full participant. He’s missed all or parts of the last four games with a shoulder injury.
Veteran defensive end Chris Wormley returned to practice. He’s on injured reserve and the Steelers have 21 days to activate him or he must either remain on the IR or be released. Rookie running back Anthony McFarland returned from illness but reserve linebacker Jayrone Elliot was out for illness. Nose guard Isaiah Buggs and running backs Jaylen Samuels and Trey Edmunds were out with injuries. Tight end Vance McDonald and guard Kevin Dotson also sat out as they remain on the reserve/covid list. A number of veteran players were also given their typical Wednesday off for rest.
The NFL is forcing all teams to operate under intensive COVID-19 protocols starting Saturday. Teams will be required to hold all of their meetings remotely and all players and staff must wear masks at all times while at team facilities, including during practice.
