The White Township Supervisors met Wednesday afternoon and approved the tentative 2021 budget.
The budget will contain no increases in fees or taxes for township residents and like in years past, there are no property taxes included in the budget. Expenditures for the township come to $8,781,923 while income is at $8,281,078. The township will use some of their surplus to fill the budget gap.
The budget will be up for approval at the Supervisors Meeting on December 16th at 7:30 PM.
In other business the Township Supervisors considered a request to sell alcoholic beverages not for consumption at the County Faire Market Christmas event at S&T Bank Arena on December 5th. Supervisor Sandy Gillette was in favor of the idea, saying this would help out local small businesses.
But Supervisor Eugene Gemmel said he felt approving the request would set a bad precedent.
The request was approved by a 3-2 vote with Gemmell and Gail McCauley against it. The next township meeting will be December 1st at 1:00 PM
