State police have filed aggravated assault against an Indiana man who is accused of stabbing another man during a “heated argument” last Friday afternoon.
Police were summoned to a home on North 4th Avenue in White Township for a reported domestic incident with a possible stabbing. They say a 49-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were involved in the altercation, which turned physical when the two began pushing and restraining each other. As they wrestled, police say the older man stabbed the younger man in the back with a large knife, causing serious injuries.
Police do not identify either the victim or the assailant, but court documents indicate two counts of aggravated assault (one with extreme indifference and one with a deadly weapon), plus possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person filed against 49-year-old Shawn Hubert Robinson. He is free on $50,000 unsecured bond with a preliminary hearings scheduled for December 1st before District Judge Susanne Steffee.
The condition of the victim of the stabbing was not released.
